Accomplished industry veterans bring strong leadership to accelerate rapid adoption of Real-Time Location Systems (RTLS) in healthcare and beyond

SAN DIEGO, May 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Awarepoint Corporation, the leading provider of real-time location systems (RTLS) for hospitals, announced today that it named Ralph Keiser as executive vice president of sales, and Jaime Ojeda as executive vice president of marketing and business development to accommodate explosive growth and capitalize on accelerating business opportunities in the domestic and international RTLS markets.

Ralph Keiser

Keiser, who brings 30 years of corporate management, strategic planning, sales and marketing success in the healthcare IT market, will oversee the company's North American and global sales and account management teams.

Prior to joining Awarepoint, Keiser served as senior vice president of provider solutions for MedeAnalytics. As senior vice president of the enterprise performance management sales group at Eclipsys, he drove the unit's sales growth by 850 percent over a three-year.  Previously, he served as executive vice president of sales and marketing at Enterprise Performance Systems Inc.  During his three-year tenure, he expanded sales by more than 150 percent, which contributed to the company's sale to Eclipsys in 2008. He was also vice president of Knowledge Discovery at Cerner Corporation, where he created and grew sales of Cerner's PowerInsight data warehouse solution from zero to $20 million in three years.  

Keiser holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of Alabama-Birmingham. He is a member of the Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA).

Jaime Ojeda

Ojeda is an 18-year veteran of the healthcare, RTLS and radio frequency identification (RFID) industries. As Awarepoint's executive vice president of marketing and business development, he will be responsible for North America and international marketing strategies, including product marketing and marketing communications as well as strategic partnerships and business development.

He joins the company from Patient Care Technology Systems (PCTS), where he served as vice president of sales and business development and led PCTS to record sales and significantly expanded its strategic partnerships. His outstanding performance successfully positioned the company for acquisition by Awarepoint in April. Previously, Ojeda spent 15 years at 3M, where he held multiple executive positions in domestic and international sales, market development, research engineering, product development and business management. He was director of strategy and new business for 3M's Track and Trace Solutions Division, which provides solutions across multiple market verticals to automate business processes and workflow by leveraging auto-ID technologies (e.g., RFID) and business rules based software.   In this role, Ojeda spearheaded global market development and sales efforts for healthcare workflow automation and enterprise-wide asset management solutions. He also started and led a new 3M new radio frequency identification-based electronic vehicle registration compliance business and sold the world's first jurisdiction-wide systems.   During his career at 3M, he started new businesses and grew market share from non-existent to 100% in over 35 countries.  

Ojeda has developed six U.S. and international patents, and holds a B.S.E degree in materials science and engineering and a M.SE. degree in macromolecular engineering from the University of Michigan.
