Assurant Board of Directors Declares Quarterly Dividend of $0.12 Per Share

NEW YORK, Aug. 14 Assurant, Inc. ("Assurant")(NYSE: AIZ), a premier provider of specialty insurance and insurance-relatedproducts and services, announced today that its board of directors hasdeclared a quarterly dividend of $0.12 per common share. The dividend will bepayable on September 11, 2007 to shareholders of record as of August 27, 2007.

Future dividend declarations will be made at the discretion of the boardof directors and will be based on such factors as the company's earnings,financial condition, cash requirements, future prospects and other factors.
