Anthony R. Masso, CEO of Consortium Health Plans, Joins Prematics' Board of Directors

BETHESDA, Md., August 13 Prematics(TM) today announcedthat Anthony R. Masso, one of the nation's most experienced healthcareexecutives and current president and CEO of Consortium Health Plans (CHP), hasjoined Prematics' Board of Directors. As current President and CEO of CHP, a coalition of Blue Cross and BlueShield Plans that offers major employers a complete, national solution withcomprehensive pricing, Mr. Masso works with C-level executives of local Blues'Plans and their boards of directors to ensure that their national marketinggoals are being met. He also serves as an ex-officio member of several BlueCross Blue Shield Association committees to coordinate efficient use of planresources.

Prior to joining CHP, Mr. Masso gained deep managed care experience whileserving as Senior Vice President of Aetna Health Plans, where he wasresponsible for all East Coast operations, for all HMOs and POS health plansand managed a budget of $550 million. He also served as Senior Vice Presidentof the Health Insurance Association of America, where he developed successfulmanaged care networks, and as Executive Vice President of Integrated HealthServices, where he continued to develop a successful managed care business byincreasing insurance contracts and growing revenues to $450 million.

Mr. Masso's other healthcare experience includes serving as an activemember of the board of directors for SXC, a leading provider of healthcare ITsolutions for the pharmaceutical supply chain. Previously, he served forthree years as President of StrongCastle, LLC, a private consulting company,specializing in advising foundations, pharmaceutical benefits managementcompanies, wellness companies and physician partnerships. He also worked withRxHub, LLC, a consortium of major pharmaceutical benefit management companiesand payors, to advance the adoption of electronic prescribing.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Masso served in the public sector as a divisiondirector for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, a legislativeaide for the U.S. Senate, and as an operations officer with the NationalCenters for Disease Control.

Mr. Masso received his BS from the University of Rhode Island and hismasters in public administration from Syracuse University.
