LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 16 Anthem Life is encouragingconsumers to spend a few minutes in September planning for the unexpected.

"Life insurance isn't for the people who die; it's security for the peoplewho live," said Nicholas Brecker, president of Anthem Life. "It's a subject noone wants to talk about, but you can't avoid it, especially after you'veworked hard to provide financial stability for your family."

More than three-quarters of people whose spouses died prematurely (betweenthe ages of 30 and 55) felt they did not have adequate life insurancecoverage. That's according to the National Association of Insurance andFinancial Advisors. In addition, the LIFE Foundation, a nonprofit organizationdedicated to helping consumers make wise decisions about their families'financial futures, found that more than half of Americans say they're worriedabout how their families would manage financially if they were to dieunexpectedly.

"Every person's financial situation is different, but whether you'remarried, married with kids or a single parent, it's important to take aninventory and ask yourself if you have enough life insurance should theunexpected occur," said Brecker.

How much is enough? To answer this question, consumers can consult a lifeinsurance needs calculator, such as the one offered by the LIFE Foundation atwww.lifehappens.org.

Anthem Life products can help fill the gap with immediate expenses, suchas funeral costs; ongoing expenses, such as food, housing and transportation;and future expenses, such as college costs and retirement.
