American Psychological Association Division 52 Elects Dr. Neal Rubin President Elect

CHICAGO, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The American School of Psychology at Argosy University, Chicago Professor and University Fellow Neal Rubin, Ph.D., ABPP,  has been elected president of The American Psychological Association's (APA) Division of International Psychology (Division 52).  He will serve as president-elect in 2011 and president in 2012.

Division 52 seeks to develop a psychological science and practice that is contextually informed, culturally inclusive, serves the public interest, and promotes global perspectives within and outside of APA. Division 52 represents the interest of all psychologists who foster international connections among psychologists, engage in multicultural research or practice, apply psychological principles to the development of public policy, or are otherwise concerned with individual and group consequences of global events.

Dr. Rubin graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Northwestern University and obtained his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the Committee on Human Development, Department of Behavioral Sciences at the University of Chicago. Dr. Rubin has been certified as a Diplomate in Clinical Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Psychology and the American Psychological Association

Since 2003 Dr. Rubin has served as a Special Projects Associate of the APA's United Nations NGO Team at UN Headquarters in New York City.  He is a member of the International Council of Psychologists, the International Association of Applied Psychology Division 39 (Psychoanalysis) and the Chicago Association of Psychoanalytic Psychology. Dr. Rubin maintains a clinical practice in Chicago and Arlington Heights.
