DURHAM, N.C., May 14 AlphaMed Press, publisher of theinternationally renowned journals Stem Cells and The Oncologist, has promotedGeorge Kendall Vice President, Operations & Business Development.

Ann Murphy, AlphaMed's president, said, "We congratulate George who hasmanaged AlphaMed's journals, Stem Cells and The Oncologist, and relatedpublications, since he joined the company in early 2007 as Director ofOperations & Business Development. George brings over ten years experience inscientific and medical publishing management experience, including at theprestigious Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences where he managedproduction, marketing and licensing. As our Vice President, Operations andBusiness Development, George will continue to expand the journals'circulation, including international readership and Web presence, whileinsuring that the journals' core values and high editorial standards forphysicians and scientists are kept inviolate."

George was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature fromthe University of Maryland and a Master of Arts degree in Literary Studiesfrom the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
