To qualify for the '200 Best Small Companies' list, companies had to have shown a consistent pattern of positive growth over the past 12 months and also over a five-year period. Forbes selected companies with revenues between $5 million and $750 million, net profit margins greater than 5% and share prices above $5 as of September 29, 2008.
