Allied World's David Bell to Present as Keynote Speaker at 2009 Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium

PEMBROKE, Bermuda, Sept. 10 Allied WorldAssurance Company Holdings, Ltd (NYSE: AWH) announced today that AlliedWorld's Chief Operating Officer, David Bell, will be a Keynote Speaker at the2009 Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium at the Cityplace Conference Center inDallas, Texas on September 15, 2009.

The Entrepreneurial Insurance Symposium is organized by MarketScout, andthe theme of this year's conference is "The Road to Innovation, Opportunitiesand Growth." Speakers will focus on creating opportunities within theinsurance industry in a soft market and how the economic climate is affectingthe industry overall. Eight Presidents or CEOs of major insurance companies,four Fortune 500 Risk Managers, and other leaders of innovation in insurancewill discuss the future of the industry.

Mr. Bell's keynote address will focus specifically on insurance andinnovation. Other keynote speakers include J. Hyatt Brown, CEO of Brown &Brown, Bill Hartnett of Microsoft, Dr. Robert Hartwig of the InsuranceInformation Institute, Dr. William T. Hold of The National Alliance forInsurance Education and Research and Charles Williamson of Chartis' PrivateClient Group.

Mr. Bell began working with Allied World in 2002, when he helped to startthe company's professional lines division. Previously, he worked with ChubbInsurance, where he managed the professional lines operations in Florida inaddition to overseeing Chubb's statewide corporate lobbying efforts.

Mr. Bell serves as President of PLUS (Professional Liability UnderwritingSociety), the largest insurance industry association focused on education. Heserves on the board of the Mansfield Center, which promotes a betterunderstanding of Asia and of U.S. relations with Asia. He has presented tothe Council on Foreign Relations, most recently regarding expropriation andkidnap/ransom in Asia and the Middle East.

Mr. Bell is also active in the nonprofit community as a co-founder ofGrateful Nation Montana. In recent months, he has appeared on NBC Nightly Newswith Brian Williams and on Fox & Friends to discuss making Grateful Nation'smission of funding college educations for the children of U.S. fallen soldiersa national priority. Mr. Bell holds a degree in Finance from the University ofMontana.
