"We are very excited to begin offering these four new career-focused bachelor's degree programs to individuals who are seeking to advance or transition their careers toward better opportunities in the exciting fields of health care, technology and business management," said David L. LaRue, Campus President. "This expansion of our learning continuum enables students to advance from diploma and associate degree programs in business, health care and IT, all the way through to their bachelor's degrees."

All four of the new bachelor's degree programs offer students the ability to learn in a manner that works best for their schedules and learning styles, either in on-campus classrooms or via a hybrid of classroom and online studies. These flexible scheduling options are very popular with individuals who are balancing careers and/or families with their educational goals. In addition, the bachelor's degrees can be completed in just three years, allowing students to graduate and start earning their new salary sooner than they might expect.

Applications are now being accepted for the four new bachelor's degree programs and the first classes will begin on April 28, 2010. To learn more or register for classes, students are encouraged to contact the admissions department of Akron Institute at (330) 724-1600 or toll free at (800) 311-0512 or online at http://www.akroninstitute.com.

Herzing University was founded in 1965 as one of the first post-secondary institutions to focus on training students for the computer industry. Since then, the university has grown to encompass 10 campuses in the United States and its online division, Herzing University Online. Established in 1970 as Akron Medical Dental Institute, Akron Institute was incorporated into the Herzing Educational System in February 2004, after which Herzing invested almost $3 million in a new building, leaseholds, new equipment, and additional programs.

"Career-focused - Convenient - Caring" education is the motto of the University. The caring is an integral part of the culture and faculty, and staff are hired as much for that characteristic as for their credentials and experience. The convenience is illustrated by not only the student choice of resident, hybrid or online options, but also by block scheduling of classes so there is no wasted time between classes. All of the programs are career focused and the University has, as one of its important goals, a high percentage of its available graduates working in their career field. Herzing University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association; www.ncahlc.org or 800.621.7440.
