(NYSE: T) announcedtoday that AT&T Business Solutions has won two multimillion dollar nationalcontracts with Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association (BCBSA), continuing thecompany's long-standing relationship with BCBSA and its member companies astheir primary networking services provider. Under the contracts, Blue Crossand Blue Shield companies across the country can use a complete portfolio ofmobility, data, voice, hosting, Internet Protocol (IP), consulting and managedservices.
AT&T Business Solutions' advanced networking technology supports BCBSAmember companies by helping them expand capabilities, improve service andcontrol costs as they increasingly rely on the Internet and private networksto exchange critical information among customers and providers. The company'sadvanced network services provide real-time access to customer and providerinformation for call center representatives.
This additional agreement will provide increased flexibility andproductivity for the 39 Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies, whichcollectively provide health care coverage for more than 102 million Americans.
BCBSA's relationship with AT&T Business Solutions has helped it providegreater business momentum to its member companies while providing best-in-class service to its customers. Under this national agreement, Blue Cross andBlue Shield companies will experience greater cost efficiencies andinnovative, reliable options for their network services needs.
Through the secure AT&T BusinessDirect(R) portal, BCBSA gains around-the-clock access to real-time information about the performance of its networkservices and a direct connection to electronic billing and ordering systems.
