WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., Sept. 15 APS Healthcare, a leading provider of specialty healthcare solutions, unveiled its new corporate headquarters in White Plains today, bringing 200 new jobs to Westchester County and New York State.

APS Healthcare, which operates 41 Medicaid programs in 26 states and Puerto Rico, was recently selected by the New York State Department of Health to manage the state's Medicaid Quality Wise program. The program will provide a retrospective claims review of the healthcare services delivered to three million New York fee-for-service Medicaid recipients.

APS Healthcare will occupy more than 44,000 square feet of 44 South Broadway, taking up an entire floor in the building known as Westchester One. The company signed a 10-year lease and will hire a total of 200 employees by 2012. So far, about 70 have been hired. The company moved from Silver Springs, Maryland late last year to temporary space in White Plains while the Westchester One location was being prepared.

Westchester County Executive Andy Spano said that it was clear from the first meeting with APS almost two years ago that this was a "winning" company that would be welcomed in Westchester. "APS has a proven record of helping states provide quality health care while containing costs and we couldn't be happier that they chose to bring their business to Westchester," he said. "They've made a major commitment to their new location in White Plains - bringing new jobs and helping boost corporate confidence throughout the county."
APS focuses on improving overall health and wellness through interventions that promote behavior change, improve health outcomes and reduce long-term healthcare costs. That is at the core of APS Healthcare's contract with New York State's Department of Health, to manage the state's Medicaid Quality Wise program.
"The goal of this initiative is to ensure that medically necessary services are delivered to New York's Medicaid members effectively and efficiently. With APS Healthcare's help, providers will be able to improve patient safety and quality of care, while bringing New York Medicaid closer to the best utilization review technology available today," said New York State Health Commissioner Richard F. The program examines how medical services are used and identifies opportunities to improve patient safety and quality of care. The results of sophisticated analytics will be provided to physicians and clinics to enhance their ability to improve clinical outcomes through increased knowledge of patients' use of services and medications.
