WASHINGTON, Sept. 22 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Medicare Advantage is an important coverage option for minority and low-income seniors, according to the latest data from the Medicare Current Beneficiary Survey (MCBS).

According to the MCBS data for 2006, 48 percent of all beneficiaries enrolled in Medicare Advantage in 2006 had incomes of less than $20,000. Moreover, 71 percent of minority Medicare Advantage enrollees had incomes below $20,000.
