AARP Holds Town Hall Meeting With Congressman Henry Waxman to Focus on Health and Financial Security Matters

WHAT: AARP will host a forum with Congressman Waxman in W. Los Angeles to shed light on the crucial issues of health care and financial security. As pension plans disappear, health care costs increase and the economic outlook grows unpredictable, AARP members have expressed concerns about their retirement security. Through this exchange community residents hope to gain perspective on what their elected officials think about these compelling issues.

The meeting, an effort to educate and promote discussion amongst the citizens of W. Los Angeles, is a part of a Divided We Fail series of similar meetings in all 50 states. Divided We Fail (www.dividedwefail.org) seeks effective government action on health and financial security issues and represents millions of Americans who make up a diverse cross-section of the country.



Divided We Fail will be working throughout 2008 and beyond to end the political gridlock and push for quality, affordable health care and life-time financial security. Town hall meetings are just one aspect of the effort as Divided We Fail will continue to actively engage elected officials, the media, business leaders, and the American public.
