Dow says "the diet is basically free because all you have to do is buy thebook for about $15 and then have a supply of pen and paper. Unlike currentsuccessful weight loss programs, a person doesn't have to keep buying productsor meals from my company to lose weight or maintain a certain weight."

"This diet is unique in that the book provides all the tools the generalpublic needs to control one's weight," says Dow. He says that people with alleducational backgrounds have understood the concepts in the book (from a highschool dropout [non-GED] to an MD). Also, a local physician has startedselling the book in his clinic.

An expanded edition has also been published which provides allcalculations for estimated calorie requirements for adults from age 19 to 84.This edition was intended for Health Professionals that deal with many peoplein regards to weight concerns. The basic edition requires an individual toperform several basic math calculations to determine their estimated calorierequirement. The book has been translated into Spanish and is also availablein a generic international version (Metric Edition).
