Dr. Stephen Epstein, Executive Director of the Cardiovascular ResearchInstitute and Director of Vascular Biology Research at the MedStar ResearchInstitute at Washington Hospital Center, and also Clinical Professor ofMedicine at the Georgetown University School of Medicine, will give thekeynote speech at the symposium. Dr. Epstein previously served for over 30years as Chief of the Cardiology Branch at the National Heart, Lungs, andBlood Institute at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.Dr. Epstein is an internationally recognized authority in the field, with over500 publications in peer-reviewed medical journals. His current researchinterests focus on understanding and treating cardiovascular disease at themolecular level.
