Grand Village combines intelligent design with compassionate care for residents of Greater Grand Rapids. Grand Village marks the 25th community housing center under the locally-owned Leisure Living umbrella, and it is the organization's second location in Kent County.

"We always say we are 'Sharing Life's Journey with Seniors,' and that is why we are honored to be walking side-by-side with families and residents as they journey through this stage of their lives," said Neil Kraay, President of Leisure Living Management.

"We are excited to be a part of the close-knit Grandville community as we keep family members near relatives and friends with around-the-clock care from our exceptional staff."

Grandville resident Elnora Peabody will be among the first people to move into the community. She said it was important for her to stay close to home, where she and her husband, Darl, have lived and raised their family for more than 60 years.

"It is everything I want: brand-new, beautiful, and the people seem very nice," Peabody said. "I will be able to attend my same church, Grandville United Methodist, and to continue treasured friendships and important services conveniently. Plus, I'll have the opportunity to make new friends."

Kraay said the ground-floor, barrier-free center was designed with seniors in mind by consulting with residents, their family members, staff and community experts with the intention of providing a wonderful, comfortable living environment. Grand Village also incorporates best healthcare practices to deliver quality lifestyle services.

The secure setting has diverse floor plans, including a 2-bedroom apartment option in the independent and assisted living section, that cater to seniors and offer up to 700 square feet of living space. Each of the apartments has a private bath and kitchenette.

The Memory Care portion of the living center features two neighborhoods of seven spacious studio-style apartments. Residents have access to two dining rooms and multiple relaxing common areas that are ideal for gathering with neighbors and family.

Grand Village residents will enjoy:

  • Full-service meals
  • Daily enrichment and entertainment
  • Social events
  • An in-house salon and spa
  • Complete laundry service
  • Paved walking trails
  • A spacious outdoor courtyard
The community at the corner of 44th Street and Wilson Avenue SW has easy access to I-196 and the Rivertown Crossings shopping corridor.
