"Given our challenging economy, it's especially inspiring to see employers not losing sight of employee engagement and volunteerism," said Marci Koblenz, the organization's President. "They understand caring not only benefits individuals, families, and communities, but also gives employers an advantage with their stakeholders."

Honor Roll recipients are selected for their adherence to all 10 Characteristics of a "Company That Cares." Each Honor Roll organization shows its steadfast commitment to employees and actively supports communities. Key components of the selection process are a written application and employee survey.

"Honor Roll organizations understand the importance of doing the right things even in difficult times. An example is their approach to rising health care costs. These employers provide screenings and programs to promote healthy lifestyles. This approach results in lower health care expenses overall," said Cynthia Cobb, Honor Roll Program Chair. "It's a win-win-win for employees, their families, and the employers."

The Honor Roll announcement coincides with the annual launch of CAREDAYS, a month-long, national initiative addressing a significant societal issue. CAREDAYS10: Terrific Tales supports childhood literacy by creating classroom libraries with age-appropriate books for children to read. Individuals and organizations are encouraged to participate. If we all do a little, we can accomplish a lot!
