10 Sutter Health Hospitals Honored by State Quality Report Card

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Oct. 21 Ten hospitals affiliated with Sutter Health received the prestigious "Certificate of Excellence" from the California Hospital Assessment and Reporting Task Force (CHART). Only 36 hospital campuses across California (of 218 participating hospitals) received this honor - one-third are affiliated with the Sutter Health network.

The "Certificate of Excellence" recognizes that the winning hospital achieved above average or superior scores in five of the eight CHART measurements, did not receive any "below average" or "poor" score on any measure, and reported data for all of the measurements for which they qualify.

Data collected by CHART is available as a user-friendly, online report card at Published by the California HealthCare Foundation, the free service allows consumers to search for hospitals by location, name, or medical condition. Hospitals are ranked on 50 "performance indicators," including common reasons for admissions such as cardiac care, maternity services and treatment for pneumonia. Patient experience data also is included. Data is voluntarily submitted by participating hospitals. The not-for-profit Sutter Health network has participated on the CHART Steering Committee since its inception in 2004.
