1-800 CONTACTS Donates $4,000 to Friends for Sight; Money Based Partially on Proceeds From the 2008 1-800 CONTACTS 5k/10k Challenge June 21

DRAPER, Utah, July 28 1-800 CONTACTS announced today itwill donate $4,000 to Friends for Sight, a Utah-based charitable organizationthat provides eye screenings and preventative programs throughout the state.The money was partially raised from proceeds of the 2008 1-800 CONTACTS 5k/10kChallenge, held June 21 in Salt Lake City's Sugar House Park and the adjoiningneighborhoods near the Salt Lake Country Club.

Misty Paxton, race director and 1-800 CONTACTS health and wellnessmanager, said the donation, "Represents our enthusiastic support for thetremendous contribution Friends for Sight is making to thousands in ourstate."

Colleen Malouf, CEO of Friends for Sight, said the money will be used toprovide vision screenings for family and children in need.

The race attracted more than 250 runners. Cash prizes were given to thetop finishers in the women's, men's and master's categories. The three topracers in every age category received Olympic-sized medals with ribbons.

Background on Friends for Sight

Friends for Sight was established in 1955 to provide vision screening forchildren for Amblyopia (Lazy-Eye Blindness) and preserve sight. Since 1955,over 510,000 children have been screened.
