Fee/Refund

For those applying on-line, payments can be made by :

  • Credit Card - Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
  • Electronic Cheque - To use this option, you must have a checking

    account at a U.S. bank and either a U.S. Social Security Number or U.S. driver's license.

For those submitting paper applications can pay by :

  • Credit Card- Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express.
  • Check, bank draft, or money order made payable to the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (or ECFMG). All payments must be made in U.S. funds. Candidates must write their full name and USMLE / ECFMG Identification Number, if they have been assigned one.
  • Wire Transfer - Funds may be wire transferred through most banks in the United States (Fedwire) to the ECFMG ACCOUNT NUMBER 361024284 at COMMERCE BANK, ROUTING / TRANSIT NUMBER 036001808. However, in order for a wire transfer to be credited to the ECFMG financial account, it must be identified with the candidates full name and USMLE / ECFMG Identification Number, if it has been assigned. While paying by wire transfer, candidates must also include the following information in the payment section of the application / request form: the date that the wire transfer was sent, its bank reference number, name of the originating bank, amount, and the name of sender, if different from the candidates name.
  • Important Note: If you need to make multiple credit card transactions to pay for an application/request, you must make these payments to your ECFMG financial account in advance using OASIS or by submitting multiple copies of Form 900.
