Other Vaccines

Influenza vaccine is available as a bivalent vaccine or trivalent vaccine. Both vaccines elicited good antibody response in children above 6 years of age and mean antibody titters were higher with the vaccine.


There are two other vaccines introduced in other countries-Live attenuated varicella vaccine and killed virus hepatitis A vaccine.

Varicella vaccine has demonstrated its immunogenity, efficacy and safety in clinical trials on children with leukemia. It is a live attenuated vaccine, recommended for children with leukemia and other malignancies, during remission, off chemotherapy 3 weeks before and after vaccination.
