Anal cushions are thickenings present at

1. Right Anterior


2. Right Posterior and

3. Left Lateral.

When these enlarge and protrude they produce symptomatic hemorrhoids.

Internal heamorrhoids :
These are formed by the plexus of superior heamorrhoidal veins above dentate line. They are called primary heamorrhoids when they are located in the - 3,7,11 o clock positions and Secondary when located
between these positions

External heamorrhoids:
External heamorrhoids are formed by the Inferior heamorrhoidal veins are found below dentate line and are painful when thrombosed.
