Heamorrhoidectomy: is done for chronic symptosm

and 3 & 4 degree heamorrhoids


Various techniques are advocated including the Milligan morgan ligation and excision technique, Ferguson type closed heamorrhoidectomy,

Laser (contact Nd-YAG), ANA-UNA DARE transfixation and ligation only and the Lords manual dilatation.


Post operative problems include bleeding, pain and urinary retention


For external hemorrhoids treatment is by excision.
