How to Take Venetoclax and it's Dose


It comes in the form of a film coated tablet to be taken once daily, by mouth with meals and water.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adult : The recommended dose is 20mg to be taken once daily for 7 days followed by a gradual increase in the dose every week to attain the maintenance dose of 400mg/day over a period of 5 weeks.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Venetoclax is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to the drug, with history of kidney or liver disease, conditions like gout where there is a high level of uric acid in the blood and during pregnancy and breast feeding. It should not be taken with grapefruit juice and some other drugs, which inhibit its breakdown.

Venetoclax is a BCL-2 (B - cell lymphoma 2) inhibitor which is prescribed for the treatment of a type of white blood cell cancer, chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), in patients whose tumor cells lack a part of the 17th chromosome (a specific gene alteration known as 17p deletion).
