How to Take Sumatriptan Transdermal System (TDS) and it's Dose


It comes as iontophoretic (called electromotive drug administration (EMDA)) transdermal system (TDS), to be applied on skin of upper arm or thigh.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Topical - Apply one 6.5 mg transdermal patch to dry, intact, non-irritated skin of upper arm or thigh.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with ischemic coronary artery disease (CAD), stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), uncontrolled high blood pressure, hemiplegic migraines, who have taken any other triptan drug within 24 hours and hypersensitivity.
