How to Take Succinylcholine and it's Dose


It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into a large muscle.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia- Adult: IM- As chloride: 3 to 4 mg/kg. Max total dose: 150 mg.
Child: As chloride: <1 year: Up to 4 to 5 mg/kg; ≥1 year: Up to 4 mg/kg. Max dose: 150 mg.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with genetic disorders of plasma enzyme abnormality, personal/family history of elevated body temperature, hypersensitivity from previous neuromuscular drug, severe burns, massive trauma, extensive denervation of skeletal muscle, patients with risk of excess plasma potassium, liver impairment, sudden eye pressure.
