How to take Sotalol
How it should be taken
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours after or 1 hour before breakfast and your evening food.
Dosage & When it is to be taken
Adult- PO- The recommended initial dose is 80 mg twice daily. It may be increased, if needed.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
Contraindicated in patients with bronchial asthma, slow heart rate, heart diseases, heart failure and previous evidence of hypersensitivity.

This medication is a non-selective beta-blocker, prescribed for irregular heartbeats. It works by helping the heart beat regularly for a longer period of time.
Warnings and Precautions Caution should be exercised in patients with history of heart or liver diseases, asthma or breathing difficulties, any allergy, diabetes, overactive thyroid, poor blood circulation, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakening disease), chest pain, phaeochromocytoma (growth of the adrenal gland), elderly, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
It may cause dizziness, drowsiness or lightheadedness, do not drive a car or operate machinery and get up slowly from bed while taking this medication.
Avoid abrupt withdrawal.
Storage Conditions Store it at room temperature and in an airtight container. Keep away from children.
