How to Take Midodrine and it's Dose


It comes as a tablet to take by mouth as directed by your physician.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adult: PO- Orthostatic hypotension- 10 mg 3 times per day, last dose to be taken at least 4 hours before bedtime.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with severe organic heart disease (specific organ (heart) damaged by an event), acute renal (kidney) disease, urinary retention, neuro endocrine tumor of the medulla (cancer in adrenal gland) or excess production of thyroid hormone. It is not administered in patients with persistent and excessive supine hypertension (increased level of blood flow resistance).

This medication is an antihypotensive and vasopressor, prescribed for orthostatic hypotension (low blood pressure when standing) and narrowing of the blood vessel, which leads to an increase in blood pressure.
