It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, on an empty stomach.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

IBS-C: The recommended dose is 290 mcg taken orally once daily on an empty stomach.
CIC: The recommended dose is 145 mcg taken orally once daily on an empty stomach.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with known or suspected gastrointestinal obstruction, children up to 6 years of age and hypersensitivity.

Drug Name : Linaclotide

This medication is an experimental peptide agonist, prescribed for irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C).
