How to Take Ixabepilone and it's Dose


It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein. It is usually given once every 3 weeks.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

The recommended dose in 40mg/m2 given as an intravenous infusion over 3 hours. It can be repeated after 3 weeks. The dosage may be altered depending on the patient's body surface area, other diseases or medications that the patient takes.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with increased level of liver enzymes, low white blood cell or platelet levels, and hypersensitivity.

This medication is prescribed for breast cancer either alone or in combination with capecitabine.
