How to Take Enflurane and it's Dose


It comes as a solution for inhalation, to be administered by a trained anesthesia professional.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Induction and maintenance of general anesthesia- Adult: Induction- 0.4% v/v in air, O2 or nitrous oxide-oxygen mixtures, increase by increments of 0.5% v/v every few breaths to a max of 4.5%. Maintenance: 0.5-3% v/v. do not exceed 3% v/v during spontaneous respiration.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in people with known or suspected genetic susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia (Life threatening condition with an elevated body temperature triggered by exposure to certain drugs used for general anesthesia).
