How to Take Diazoxide and it's Dose


It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with or without food.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

Adults and children- PO- The usual daily dosage is 3 to 8 mg/kg, divided into two or three equal doses every 8 or 12 hours.
Infants and newborns- The usual daily dosage is 8 to 15 mg/kg divided into two or three equal doses every 8 to 12 hours.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with functional low blood sugar, and hypersensitivity.

This medication is a glucose-elevating agent, prescribed for hypoglycemia (low blood sugar).
