• The lozenges should be sucked slowly.

• The vaginal tablets are used as 10 mg, one tablet inserted deep into the vagina daily for 6 days.
• It should also not be used in children.
• The vaginal tablet should not be used in the presence of ulceration of the vagina or the cervix. It should not be used by pregnant women within 12 hours before the birth of the baby.
• It should also not be used in girls before their first period.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
• Dequalinium should not be used in patients allergic to ammonium compounds or to the drug itself.• It should also not be used in children.
