How to Take Defibrotide Injection and it's Dose


Defibrotide injection is administered in the form of an intravenous infusion into the vein.

Dosage & When it is to be taken

The recommended dose of defibrotide injection is 6.25mg/kg to be given intravenously over 2 hours for every 6 hours. The treatment is followed for a minimum of 21 days.

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)

Defibrotide injection is contraindicated in patients who are allergic to the drug, with history of bleeding problems, with the use of any other prescription medicines or nutritional supplements which could also cause bleeding like fibrinolytics and anticoagulants, during pregnancy and breast-feeding.
