How it should be taken
It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with or without food.

PO- The initial recommended dose is 5mg/day.

Why it is prescribed (Indications)
This medication is a kinase inhibitor, prescribed for the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma after failure of one prior systemic therapy.
It blocks the action of an abnormal protein, which helps in cancer cells multiplication.
Category D :
There is positive evidence of human fetal risk based on adverse reaction data from investigational or marketing experience or studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Warnings and Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of high blood pressure, thyroid problem, liver impairment, blood clot events, bleeding problems, unhealed wound, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Avoid drinking grapefruit juice or eat grapefruit while taking this medication.
Store it at room temperature (20°C to 25°C).
