How it should be taken
It comes as a tablet, capsule or syrup to take by mouth with or without food.
Dosage & When it is to be taken
Adult: PO- Per cap contains amoxicillin 250/500 mg and carbocisteine 150 mg: 1-2 capsules 3 times per day.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
Contraindicated in patients with history of penicillin allergy and pregnancy.
Why it is prescribed (Indications)
This combination medication contains penicillin antibiotic and mucolytic agent. It is prescribed for upper and lower respiratory tract infections associated with excessive mucus.

Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Warnings and Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of peptic ulcer, severe kidney impairment, infectious mononucleosis (kissing disease) and lactation.
It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication.
Store it at room temperature.
