How it should be taken
It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with or without food.
Dosage & When it is to be taken
PO- The dose is based on patientís condition and response to this medication.
The recommended dose is 5mg to 25mg, three to four times in a day.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications)
It is not prescribed in patients who are taking mecamylamine, or any other ganglionic blocking agents; known hypersensitivity.
Why it is prescribed (Indications)
This medication is a cholinesterase inhibitor used in the treatment of myasthenia gravis. It inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine. It prevents breakdown of acetylcholine in the body, which is needed for muscle functions.

Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.
Warnings and Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with history of nerve disorder, asthma, epilepsy, increase in thyroid hormone, Parkinsonís disease, urinary obstruction, heart, lung disease, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Store it at room temperature (25įC), and in an airtight container.
