Amoxapine/ Asendin

Drug Name :  Amoxapine/ Asendin


Indication :Amoxapine is a tricyclic antidepressant. Therapeutic monitoring and toxic assessment of Amoxapine


Physiology :Amoxapine is a tricyclic antidepressant that is chemically distinct from amitptyline and imipramine. Amoxapine is metabolized by the liver to 7-hydroxy and 8-hydroxy metabolites. The 8-hydroxyderivative is an active antidepressant with a half-life of 30 hours.


Normal Values :Amoxapine: 20-100 ng/ml (64-319 nmol/L). 8-OH-amoxapine: 150-400 ng/ml (478-1275 nmol/L). Both: 200-500 ng/mL (637-1594 nmol/L)


Critical Values :>500 ng/mL (> 1594 nmol/L).


Test Method :High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC).
