Chlordiazepoxide

Drug Name :  Chlordiazepoxide


Indication :Chloradiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine drug used as a sedative. The test monitor's the level of chlordiazepoxide in blood and to determine its toxic level.


Physiology :Chlordiazepoxide is an antianxiety agent commonly used in suicide attempts. It is slowly absorbed an may take several hours to reach a peak plasma level.


Normal Values :0.1-3.0 µg/ml (0-10 µmol/L


Critical Values :>20 µg/ml (>77 µgmol/L)


Test Method :High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Gas Chromatography (GC).


Interpretation :Overdosage with the benzoiazepines is common but does not cause serious conditions.
