International- Zyflo, Zyflo Cr. This medication is a leukotriene synthesis inhibitor, prescribed for asthma. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : PO- The recommended dose is 1200mg two times per day. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, within one hour after the morning and evening meals. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of mental illness, liver impairment, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Avoid alcohol consumption while taking this medication. * Patient may develop with mental or mood changes or suicidal thoughts; watch them carefully. * Continue the use of inhalers if you have used it before the treatment. * Monitor liver functions regularly while taking this medication. Side Effects : Most Common- Inflammation of sinus, nausea and throat pain. Gastrointestinal- Abdominal pain, diarrhea, indigestion and vomiting. Miscellaneous- Rash, severe allergic reactions and liver damage. * Monitor liver functions regularly while taking this medication. Storage Conditions : Store it at controlled room temperature (20 and 25°C) and in an airtight container. Keep away from children. |
