This medication is a decongestant, used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion due to colds, allergies, and hay fever. Ophthalmic- Relieving redness in eyes. It works by constricting the blood vessels in the nose.

When should Xylometazoline not be taken? (Contraindications)

Contraindicated in patients with angle closure glaucoma, surgeries in which the dura mater is exposed.

What is the dosage of Xylometazoline?

Adult: Nasal congestion- As 0.1% solution: Instill into each nostril- 2-3 times/day. Max duration: 5 days.
