International- Erivedge. This medication is a hedgehog pathway inhibitor, prescribed for metastatic basal cell carcinoma that cannot be treated with surgery or radiation. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : The recommended dose is 150 mg taken orally once daily. How it should be taken : It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with or without food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of liver or kidney impairment, children, elderly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Avoid blood donation while taking this medication. * Male patients are advised to use condom with a spermicide, during sex with a female partner. Side Effects : Gastrointestinal - Nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting. General - Pain at administration site, fatigue. Metabolic - Weight loss, decreased appetite. Musculoskeletal - Muscle spasms, joint pain. Central Nervous System - Taste disorder. Skin - Hair loss. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature (20°C to 25°C). |
