International- VPRIV. This medication is an enzyme, prescribed for for long-term enzyme replacement therapy (ERT) for pediatric and adult patients with type 1 Gaucher disease. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : IV- The recommended dose is 60 Units/kg. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection, to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of any allergy, children, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * It may cause dizziness, do not drive a car or operate machinery while taking this medication. Side Effects : Central Nervous System - Headache, dizziness. Gastrointestinal - Abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting. Musculoskeletal - Back pain, joint pain. Infections - Upper respiratory tract infection. General - Infusion-related reaction, fever. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it in a refrigerator (2 to 8°C). |
