Trade Name(s): India- Vagistat-1. Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is an antifungal agent, prescribed for vaginal yeast infections. It works by killing the fungi. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): Hypersensitivity.
Dosage & When it is to be taken : Adult: As pessary/vaginal ointment: The recommended dose is 300 mg as a single dose. Topical- As 1% cream: Apply 1-2 times/day. How it should be taken : It comes as cream, ointment to apply topically, as directed by your physician. Warnings and Precautions : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of diabetes, immune problems, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Side Effects : Irritation, discharge, vulvar edema and swelling, vaginal pain, painful urination, nighttime urination, painful sexual intercourse, dryness of vaginal secretions, desquamation, and burning sensation. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at controlled room temperature 15°-30° C. |
