This medication is a water-soluble vitamin of the B complex, prescribed for thiamine deficiency, beriberi and acute alcoholic intoxification. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Adult: PO – The recommended dose is 10-25 mg/day in single or divided doses. IM/IV- The recommended dose range is 20-100mg/day. How it should be taken : It comes as a tablet to take by mouth, with food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of wernicke-korsakoff syndrome, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Side Effects : Thiamine tablets usually do not cause any side effects. *Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature and in an airtight container. |
