International- Zioptan. This medication is a prostaglandin analogue, prescribed for raised intraocular pressure in open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Ophthalmic- Instill One drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening. How it should be taken : It comes as eye drops to instill into the affected eyes as directed by your physician. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of closed angle glaucoma, congenital glaucoma (present from birth), eye inflammation, who are using contact lenses, accumulation of pigment particles in the drainage channels of the eye, aphakia (people with no lens), liver or kidney impairment, blocked retinal vein, who are taking other medications, any allergy, during pregnancy and breast feeding. * It should not be used in children. Side Effects : Most Common - Red eyes. Eye - Eye pain, itching, irritation or discomfort, foreign body sensation, dry or watery eyes, swelling, dark circle, discharge from eyes, blurred vision, headache, and decreased vision. * Avoid excess dosage. Storage Conditions : Store it in refrigerator (2-8°C). |
