This medication is a sulfa agent, eliminates bacteria that cause infections, especially urinary tract infections.

Contraindicated in patients with severe kidney or liver impairment, blood disorders, hypersensitivity to sulfonamides, porphyria, infants <2 months, during pregnancy (3rd trimester) and breastfeeding.
