International- Entubate, Quelicin, Anectine. This medication is a depolarizing muscle relaxant, induction and maintenance of general anesthesia by relaxing muscles. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : Muscle relaxant in general anaesthesia- Adult: IM- As chloride: 3 to 4 mg/kg. Max total dose: 150 mg. Child: As chloride: <1 year: Up to 4 to 5 mg/kg; ≥1 year: Up to 4 mg/kg. Max dose: 150 mg. How it should be taken : It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into a large muscle. Special Instruction : *Caution needed for patients with history of bone fracture, raised eye pressure, neuromuscular disease, infants, children, adolescents, pregnancy and breastfeeding. *It should only be used in children in emergency situations. Side Effects : Heart- Chest pain, fast breathing, fast or slow heartbeat pauses in breathing, pounding in the chest tightness in the chest. Musculoskeletal- Muscle pain following surgery, muscle twitching, tightening of jaw or other muscles. Skin- Rash, hives, itching. Miscellaneous- Increased saliva, difficulty in breathing, swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue, high body temperature, increased pressure in the eye. *Do not change the dosage with out healthcare provider's advice. Storage Conditions : Store it in refrigerator (2-8°C). Do not freeze it. |
