India- Ributin cap. International- Mycobutin. This medication is a bactericidal antibiotic, prescribed for mycobacterium avium complex (MAC) disease in patients with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. When it is not to be taken (Contraindications):
When it is to be taken : PO- The recommended dose is 300 mg once daily. How it should be taken : It comes as a capsule to take by mouth, with food. Special Instruction : * Caution should be exercised in patients with history of blood disorders, tuberculosis, elderly, children, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding. * Do not wear contact lenses while taking this medication. * Take full course of treatment. Side Effects : Body As A Whole - Abdominal pain, weakness, chest pain, fever, headache and pain. Gastrointestinal - Loss of appetite, diarrhea, indigestion, flatulence, nausea and vomiting. Musculoskeletal - Muscle pain. Central nervous system- Sleeplessness. Skin - Rash. ENT - Taste perversion. Genitourinary - Discolored urine. * Monitor complete blood counts while taking this medication. Storage Conditions : Store it at room temperature and away from light. |
