Why it is prescribed (Indications) : 
This medication is an immune globulin, prescribed for lung disease in infants caused by respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications): 


Contraindicated in patients with deficiency of immune globulin and hypersensitivity.

Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks.


When it is to be taken : 
IV- The usual dosage is 15 mg/kg per injection.
How it should be taken : 
It comes as a solution for injection to be administered by a healthcare provider into the vein.
Special Instruction : 
* Caution should be exercised in patients with history of congenital heart disease, kidney problems, high blood volume, sepsis, any allergy, who are taking other medications, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
* Apply a warm compress to the injection area.
Side Effects : 
Fever, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, flushing, chest tightness, muscle/joint pain and swelling.
Other Precautions : 
*Avoid excess dosage.
Storage Conditions : 
Store it in refrigerator (2-8ºC), and in an airtight container. Do not freeze it.
